I am glad and feel proud that a website is being created for the Municipal Council Batticaloa at least now as hosting of a website was a long felt need without which it will lag behind other institutions in the fast expanding electronic Information Technology world. Political and social situation, prevailed in the nearest past few decades, has prevented us from hosting a website or at least publishing a bulletin for the Council.
I am happy that this will serve the International and Local community, Government and Non- Government Organizations to learn about the beauty, tourist attractions, Industrial and business potentials to invest and develop the City. It will also be useful for the prospective donor agencies to assess and ascertain the needs and necessities of the City to plan their programmes.
This website will definitely will increase the reputation and Image of the city and I am confident that it will bring in more opportunities of Investments on Tourism, Industry and business development and pave way for drastic development and prosperity in the City and the community can expect a high living standard in the near future.
